Liverpool's Star Offers Regret to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that Salah apologised to the team following the uproar from his recent interview.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a European match subsequent to making accusations and stating his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has refused to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
The player stated that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also noted that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “It's clear there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have remained strong in the games following the interview fallout. Jones believes the outburst were never meant to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and securing victories.”
