Ex- Doctor Faces Assault Charges Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician stands accused of committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
